You share a Claude Code chat with Riya. She continues the same session in Codex, on her own account, and can send her work back.

Not a summary. The whole session.

A pasted summary keeps what the AI chose to remember. carry keeps every message, command, error and dead end, so the next agent doesn't retry the fix that already failed.

Session

Full session, resumed

Hit your limit in Claude Code? Continue the same session in Codex or on another account. It arrives as a real session, history and all.

Project

Whole project, handed over

Recent chats, Claude's memory notes, CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md, plus a handoff. A fresh session on your friend's laptop answers from your decisions. The code goes through git.

Chat apps

Chat apps, summarized

The Claude app and ChatGPT keep chats on their servers, so there carry hands over a written summary. Same as pasting, just organized.

Pair once. Then just pick.

Type /carry in Claude Code or Codex, or ask your AI app. It runs these for you.

Pick

Pick a chat

carry list shows your chats by name, not long IDs. Nothing is shared until you pick it.

Send

Send it

carry share --to riya strips API keys and tokens, encrypts the chat for her and drops it in her carry inbox, through your Drive.

Return

Keep going, hand it back

She runs carry inbox and carry open 1. When she's done, carry return brings her work back to you, updated.

How sharing works →

Your Drive. Not our servers.

carry runs on your laptop. There is no carry server and no account with us.

Drive

Only its own files

carry asks Google for the narrowest Drive permission: it sees only the files it created.

Secrets

Stripped before upload

API keys, tokens, private keys and KEY=value lines become [REDACTED] before anything leaves your laptop.

Access

You choose who sees it

Paired friends, named emails, or a link. Nothing is shared by default. Delete it from Drive any time.

Code

Open source

Built on txcript, the open chat converter by SkillSync. Apache-2.0.

FAQ

Why not just paste a summary?

For a quick question, do. For a long coding session, a summary drops exactly what matters: the exact errors, the commands that ran, the approaches that failed. carry moves the real session, so the next agent resumes it as its own instead of guessing.

Does my chat go to a VXMZ server?

No. carry has no server. It reads chats from your laptop, uploads them to your own Google Drive, and downloads them on the other side. We never see them.

Can my friend continue on their own account?

Yes, that is the point. The chat opens in whichever Claude Code or Codex account is signed in on their laptop, so their tokens are used, not yours.

Do I have to send links every time?

No. Pair with a friend once and everything you send lands in their carry inbox. Only the paired friend can read it: each pack is encrypted with a key that lives in your pairing codes.

Can my friend send the work back?

Yes. carry return sends it back and it shows up in your inbox as UPDATED. If you also kept working, carry opens theirs next to yours and overwrites nothing.

Can I use carry without the terminal?

Yes. Install it in Claude Desktop with one click, or add it to Codex or Cursor as a connector, then ask in plain words. See the docs.

What does the setup prompt do?

It is one line that points your AI at carry's setup page. Claude Code, Codex or Cursor then checks Node, installs carry and connects your Drive, asking you before each step. In a browser chat it explains how to install the desktop app instead.

What gets redacted?

Common secret shapes: OpenAI, Anthropic and Sarvam keys, GitHub tokens, AWS and Google keys, Slack tokens, JWTs, Bearer tokens, private keys and lines like API_KEY=value. It is pattern based, so do not share chats full of secrets you care about.

What does it cost?

Nothing. carry is free and open source. If it saves you a few hours, a coffee keeps the studio going.
